Leyland Country House

Best prices guarenteed when booking directly from our website!

Leyland Country House opened its doors to B&B guests in September 2006. We have since gained a reputation for providing some of the best accommodation service in the area and are very proud of that.  We offer individual, highly contemporary designed rooms that inspire and delight our clients.

The house was originally built in 1927 by a builder who intended to live in it, but when his wife died the house was sold to Edward King on the occasion of his marriage to Lilian Hetty Graham on 11th October 1927. Edward King had the water and electricity connected and created a one acre garden, tennis court, a small orchard and a rose garden.

The King family named the house LEYLAND, after Leyland Motors, a company that was run by the guardians of Lilian Graham.

Two daughters were born at Leyland; Anita Mary and Janet Graham. Six generations of the King family lived in Lymington as Booksellers, Stationers and Printers until the bookshop was sold to Waterstones just a few years ago. The fabulous, uninterrupted views surrounding Leyland Country House are unique to the property as Mr King had purchased a plot of land from a local farmer. We are now part of the New Forest National Park that was formed in 2005.

I trained as a fashion designer at the London College of Fashion and whilst having my family, restored houses. I purchased Leyland in 2002, and apart from the King family, the house has had only one other owner. A year long project of transforming Leyland in to what it is today was completed in May 2005.

Leyland Country House B&B is very much a family run business. The house manager is highly committed to our clients and is an excellent cook, so make sure you leave your room for her famous breakfast! My children, Liberty, Saskia, Monty and Harley all work as part of the team too. Everyone is here, ready to welcome you to Leyland Country House. It is our pleasure to ensure you have an amazing time.

We now also offer Bed & Breakfast Courses for those who are thinking of setting up their own B&B.
